Making his first start in 18 months, the Sam-Son Farm bred reappeared Sunday at Woodbine, a racetrack familiar to the many stakes performers in his pedigree. Debuting for trainer Kevin Attard, the 4yo Hard Spun colt made a six-wide rally under Rafael Hernandez to land a contentious 6 1/2 furlong turf allowance.

The Sam-Son Farm bred is out of Smart Strike's black-type earner Chic Thrill, daughter of Canadian champion 2yo filly Catch the Thrill & 3/4 sister to Suncoast S. winner Curlin's Catch.

 A 2yo MSW graduate at Del Mar, Gas Me Up is a full-brother to fellow debut winner Give It a Whirl.

Chic Thrill is most recently dam to Pennsylvania-bred fillies by Gun Runner & Uncle Mo.
